Whoever said that veggies weren’t the perfect meal to serve at your party was a liar. Not only are vegetables delicious, but they come packed with essential vitamins and minerals to keep your energy levels high. In order to get the most out of your next veggie dish, check out our top four favorite ways to prepare them below!
1. Crunchy Coatings: Who doesn’t love a little bit of a crunch when it comes to snacking on appetizers? Instead of munching on chips or other less healthy options, add a bit of a crunch to your favorite veggies. We love turning zucchini into a healthy french fry alternative.
If you’re interested in turning your favorite vegetable into a healthier version of a fry, all you have to do is coat the veggie in oil, flour and your favorite Massel product.
2. Glazes: A glaze is the perfect, simple way to add a punch of flavor to your favorite veggie dish. By adding a glaze, you’re able to turn a bland side dish to the star of the show. We recommend roasting your vegetables (onions, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, butternut squash, carrots and fingerling potatoes are all highly recommended) first before drizzling them with our delicious homemade glaze.
The glaze can be made my combining the Massel Concentrated Liquid Stock, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, balsamic, chili and sesame seeds.
3. Marinades: A marinade is an easy way to add flavor in minutes. We recommend adding a marinade to tender veggies like mushrooms, zucchini and eggplant. Marinated veggies work well as sides, appetizers and even as the main dish.
In order to whip up the marinade, all you need to do is empty one pouch of your favorite Massel Concentrated Liquid Stock into a tray, add the same amount of your favorite white wine and place your veggies into the mixture. Then let the veggies sit for 2-5 minutes depending on how strong you like your marinade. Continue to cook as normal.
4. Toss with Citrus. Last but not least, add some zest. Citrus is a unique way to add a tangy kick that will definitely be a crowd pleaser. When it comes to adding citrus to our veggies, we always go back to this Saffron & Citrus Roasted Fingerling Potatoes recipe. Not only does this recipe taste amazing, but it has a beautiful presentation as well. If you’re preparing a meal with the intentions to impress, this is the dish for you.
