Looking for a way to make cooking a little easier and cheaper? You’re not alone. Cooking can be time consuming and sometimes even stressful. That’s why it’s important to learn as many tips and tricks as possible for a stress-free meal. We’ve gathered up some of our favorite cooking hacks below to make your next #masselmeal better than ever.
Use your Keurig for more than coffee: Ever wanted just one cup of hot water without having to turn on the stove? Us too. Fortunately, Keurig (or any single-cup coffee maker!) makes that simple with almost instant results. The next time you want to add boiling hot water to your ramen or oatmeal, just turn on your coffee maker and you’ll be good to go!
Light a candle: And no, not just so your kitchen smells nice. Did you know that having a lit candle next to you while you cut an onion actually prevents you from crying? We promise.
Use your dishwasher as multi-use washing machine: While dishwashers are arguably the greatest invention of all time when it comes to cleaning up after a dinner party, they can do a lot more than just wash plates and spoons. Dishwashers are also the perfect way to clean toys, flip flops and even toothbrushes. They do it all.
Use a muffin tin as an ice tray: This is especially great for when you want to fill up a pitcher with ice. Muffin trays create extra large ice cubes that not only add a unique twist to your usual pitcher of lemonade but also prevent you from using up all the ice in your freezer.
Serve ice cream with a knife: No really, we’re serious. This might sound weird but try it once and you’ll never go back to scooping ice cream with a spoon. Not only does this make serving ice cream easier but you’re able to get more precise portions.
